Ark has released an update which introduces the Giganotosaurus. This dinosaur is huge. It dwarfs the TRex. It took surprisingly little to take it down given the size of it, uses Queztal kibble and a lot of narcotics. I play on an unofficial server (AustraliARK 45.121.209.21:7987 – If you come say hey, tell em Shill sent you!) with x15 tame, it required narcotics to be shovelled down its throat.

Once the update was completed, I’ve rushed to get online so that I could update the Admin Cheat Sheet, Kibble Sheet and the Breeding Sheet. I’m still in the process of updating the Breeding sheet, the temperature that the Giganotosaurus eggs need is 31+, but the temps in game didn’t get any higher than that. Camp fires around it worked well though. It shouldn’t be too difficult to hatch it with the information currently available. For those on official servers Suiii on Reddit posted that “It will take 65 kibble and 3:49:00 for a level 120 according to the ark taming calculator. http://www.survive-ark.com/taming-calculator/“.

So far the feedback on Reddit is mixed, as expected. It takes a long time to officially tame, is quite the damage dealer and tank. The counter is that it’s just been introduced, is an alpha stage game and the Dev’s will probably amend the stats at some point. Which is something to keep in mind if you’re going to spend time and effort into taming one.
