Tfallouthe hype train for Fallout 4 got me wondering what it was like to play it. I couldn’t justify spending $100+ AUD for the game on a PC game this close to Christmas, so I spoke to my cousin in law who said that Fallout 3 was similar to Fallout 4. With that in mind and the the recent Steam sale, I bought Fallout 3. Actually, my husband did. He wasn’t too fussed with it, so he refunded it and I bought it and I’m loving it.

Even though I jump each time a landmine goes off, squeal whenever a ghoul or super mutant appear, cringe when a two headed cow or a centaur come crawling towards me with freakish pace, I’m loving it. With the recent experiences of the Game of Thrones game in mind, I know that there are a set amount of endings and my choices will determine which ending I get. I haven’t looked into any of them.

If you haven’t and plan to play and don’t want spoilers, stop reading here.

So far in the game I’ve killed Amata’s father, the Overseer. He seemed like a power hungry jerk and he came at me first! Went back to vault 101 to answer Amata’s call for help, which resulted in me killing the Overseer again, who also came at me!!! Only to be kicked out by Amata! Grr! Reunited with my father, saving him from a weird cyber reality, I’ve discovered 3 citites and vampires!?! Decoded a few puzzles, learning that the numbers they give you aren’t for letters you’ve gotten right but the position of letters. I’m trying to get to a vault that is hidden behind a cave of bratty kids that I just want to mow down, who seem to think that there is some magical town that adults go to when they turn 18. I’m up to a part where the game is throwing Enclave soldiers clad in super armor AND Deathclaws at me. Either or is rough enough but BOTH TOGETHER!? UGH! I’m scared to go down the tunnel further because I know there is going to be bad guys down there and I just can’t find enough .44 ammo for my Lincon’s Repeater!

If you’ve played, what stats / perks would you recommend? (No storyline spoilers though please!)
